Experience Summary Of Standing Office For Two Years.

It's been two years since I started using standing desks. No matter how long I work a day, I always stand in front of the computer. That is to say, sometimes I stand for more than 10 hours a day. If I don't stand, I must be napping, eating or meditating.

I haven't done any comparison of blood test results or other objective measurements, these are my personal subjective experience. Of course, I can't say that all the changes are attributed to standing up. I exercise with Power 20 every day. Nevertheless, I spend far more time standing than any other sport, so it's likely that standing contributes most to shaping my body.

Worrying about what might happen but didn't:


I did not experience any pain in my knees, feet, back or hip.
At the end of the day or week, I didn't feel exhausted.
My work efficiency has not declined.

Changes that have taken place:


My posture has improved and my neck and shoulders are no longer forward.
Leg muscles are stronger.
The back is no longer painful.
My daily activity has increased.

Side effect:


Negative: Now it's a little uncomfortable to sit down for more than two hours.
Positive: I won't be so frustrated when waiting in line or waiting for the subway. I'm sure half of the queue frustration is caused by standing fatigue, which I have no problem with now.

Some adjustments made in the past two years:


I used to wear shoes with thick and comfortable soles and stand on thick cushions. Now, all shoes are OK and no cushions are needed.
Now my computer is five inches (12.7cm) higher than it was at first.
At first my head leaned forward too much. Now the keyboard was flat with my chest and my eyes were slightly downward (105 degrees perpendicular).
I used to sit while I was resting, but now if I don't sit, I jump and jump. This is more conducive to the revitalization of both legs than sitting.

Generally speaking, it is very useful to do so. Two years ago, I still strongly recommend standing office. A suitable height adjustable desk is necessary.
